Dagupan City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez approved the transferring of Dagupan City hall from A.B. Fernandez Avenue to Barangay Pantal near Judge Jose de Venecia Sr. Expressway Extension with the endorsement of the members of City Development Council (CDC).

The members of CDC unanimously approved the proposal made by Atty. Cornelia Español, the president of Dagupan Senior Citizens Federation. Español proposed the relocation of the city hall to another area for she observed the overcrowding of people in the present location.

“Neighboring towns have already built their respective new municipal halls and Dagupan as a major economic center, deserves a new building in a better location, outside the business district,” she added.

Fernandez assembled a meeting at City Museum to present the city’s Comprehensive Development Program (CDP) for 2017-2022, the 1st Supplemental Annual Investment Plan for 2017, and the Supplemental Budget number 1 for calendar year 2017. In the said meeting, the endorsement incorporated in CDP was approved by the mayor.

The other projects listed are: the upgrading of roads and drainage systems in different barangays; purchase of garbage equipment for the city’s zero garbage campaign; livelihood program for fisher folk; beautification of the central business district; purchase of lot as site for the government employee housing project; flood control projects; bangus export program; purchase of lot for the new fish market and construction of fish market, among others.
