DENR-EMB recognizes Alaminos on Solid Waste Management Summit

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources' Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) Regional 1 Office awarded the "Initiative For Alternative Technologies Award" to the City of Alaminos at Ariana Hotel Bauang, La Union last June 27.

The use of alternative technologies in support to Republic Act 9003 or also known as Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 was among the solid waste management systems that were being implemented by the city government as part of its 10-year Solid Waste Management Plan which has been approved by the National Solid Waste Management Commission.

On behalf of City Mayor Arthur F. Celeste, City Government Assistant Department Head Engr. Gaspar Acosta and Environmental Management Specialist I Grace Ravarra received the plaque of recognition. EMB Regional Director Ma. Victoria Abrera presented the award during the 2nd Regional Ecological Solid Waste Management Summit and Awarding of LGU and Industry Partner's Best Practices Program.
