TeaM Energy Corporation, also known as “Tokyo Electric And Marubeni”, is now the largest Japanese investment in the Philippines that is run by Filipino manpower.

It was a USD 40-billion project invested by Japan’s biggest conglomerates - Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), Marubeni Corporation (Marubeni), and Chubu Electric Company to Team Energy which was known before as Mirant Philippines in 2007. These huge conglomerates also operated two coal-fired power plants in the Philippines, the 1,128 MW Sual Power Power Plant in Pangasinan and 735 MW Pagbilao Power Plant in Quezon.

TeaM Energy, together with Aboitiz Power, also started the construction of Pagbilao Energy Corporation, a 400 MW coal-fired power plant and the third generating unit in Pagbilao adjacent to the existing units 1 and 2 of Team Energy's Pagbilao Power Plant.

With the corporation's apparent diligence in reputable taxpaying and partnership plans with Duterte Administration, it is said to be of great help in attracting even bigger investments and socio-economic partnership with the synergy of Japan's biggest conglomerates.
