SAN FRANCISCO, California - Supervisors of San Francisco is planning to ban the sale of flavored nicotine liquid that are used in electronic cigarettes or also known as “vape” and other tobacco products that will take effect on April 2018.

Supervisor Malia Cohen, who sponsored the bill said: “We’re focusing on flavored products because they are widely considered to be a starter product for future smokers.” The law will be effective on April 2018 as the bill is expected to pass by the board, but there would still be voting mechanics.

Tobacco companies that sell flavored “e-liquid” will be suspended if proven guilty for purshasing flavored nicotine liquid. Other cities have already passed the law to decrease the number of users of flavored vaping liquids and flavored tobacco but, San Francisco was the first in the country to pass a bill about sales ban.
