Creamline deals Water Defender’s first loss in PVL

Creamline Cool Smashers won against BaliPure Water Defenders in a grueling four-set match in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan last July 5.

The Cool Smashers’ star player, Alyssa Valdez, scored 37 points with 34 spikes, one block and two service aces to lead her team to victory against the Water Defenders. Her teammates Rosemarie Vargas, Pau Soriano and her superb setter Jia Morado, a former player in Ateneo de Manila Lady Eagles who dished out 71 excellent sets also contributed in a thrilling 25-20, 28-30, 25-19, and 31-29 match.

BaliPure’s Gretchel Soltones led her team with 18 points while Risa Sato added 14 and Aiko Urdas contributed 12 points to a loss that dropped them to a 1-1 record.

Cool Smashers was now at the top of the standings with 2-0 win-loss record.
