Calasiao conducts Marusay and Parongking river cleanup drive

Calasiao Municipal Solid Waste Management Office Head Miss Janet Albanio with the cooperation of DILG Office of Calasiao conducted a cleanup drive of Marusay and Parongking River along with Vice Mayor Mahadeva Das Mesina, all punong barangays, and municipal department heads of Calasiao around 6 a.m. on July 12.

The cleanup drive in all barangays and with their respective riverbanks was held in compliance with the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 or R.A. 9003 and with directives of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through the Environmental Management Bureau.

Vice Mayor Mesina emphasized the importance of cleaning the environment especially the rivers and said: “Kailangan ibalik ang dating ilog na nagsisilbing malinis at malinaw na pwedeng pasyalan ng magkasintahan at malayang makalangoy ang mga bata. Magtulungan at magkaisa tayo para makamit ang kalinisan ng ating ilog.”
