ABS-CBN holds Red Alert Emergency Expo in Lingayen

Over 300 participants joined the Red Alert Emergency Expo 2017 by ABS-CBN in partnership with the provincial government of Pangasinan at the Capitol Resort Hotel grounds in Lingayen last July 29.

The expo was an educational and experiential learning exposition of ABS-CBN which seeks to empower the listeners and viewers of ‘Red Alert sa DZMM’ and ‘Red Alert Program’ by teaching them survival and emergency response tips and disaster preparedness. ABS-CBN Senior Vice President Ging Reyes led the expo with a team composed of 150 executives and staff. ABS-CBN News personalities Atom Araullo and Gretchen Fullido served as the main hosts of the event.

As a host local government unit, Governor Amado Espino III thanked ABS-CBN for having its first provincial emergency expo in Pangasinan. Likewise, Espino sought support for his disaster preparedness program, “Aktibo at Ligtas na Pamayanan” (Safe and Active Communities) which is a community-based DRRM capability enhancement program supervised by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

PDRRMC Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) staff Noel Cabobos lectured on basic water survival skills while ABS-CBN shared tips on fire safety and fire drill, hostile environment rescue operations, Eveready e-balde, mobile earthquake simulator, and survival Olympics.

According to the Province of Pangasinan official FB page, 250 participants were sent by the local government unit of Lingayen, University of Pangasinan-PHINMA, and STI College of Dagupan.

Gov. Espino urged Pangasinenses to work together with the provincial government in disaster preparedness and emphasized: “Be force multipliers in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). Kung alam niyo na, ituro niyo na din sa iba… sa ating mga kababayan.”
