The University of Pangasinan Association of Communication Students (UPACS) led by President Christian Lomibao conducted a photography and modelling competition coined as “Team Ladawan" at PHINMA-University of Pangasinan on August 4.
“Ladawan” is an Ilocano term for larawan or picture which was the focal point of the competition. The event, which was open for all UPang students, was aiming to showcase the talents and skills of photography enthusiasts. Participants presented a raw and an edited photo that they took inside the campus which must include the elements of make-up and style.
Last year's competition had a theme of capturing silhouette photos but the contest was given a twist this year. The organizers adapted the component of having a photographer, a model, a make-up artist, and two assistants for every group to better emphasize team effort. With no specific theme, the contestants were given the freedom to capture moments and bring it to life through their photos.

Seven teams participated in the competition and the group composed of Regina Althea Salgado (photographer and make-up artist), Darren Delos Santos (model), Carl Jancedric Carreon and Harold Noel Laraya (assistants), and Mikee Garcia (editor) emerged victorious by having the best photo among the bunch.
UPACS President Lomibao encouraged photography enthusiasts who wish to master their craft: "Photography is an output of your emotion. Research more and practice. Learn the different types and skills so next time, you can produce better photos."
