DCAA Basketball and Volleyball Tournaments 2017 kick off

The Dagupan City Athletic Association (DCAA) 2017 or also known as 2017 Mayor Belen Fernandez Cup Basketball and Volleyball Tournaments officially kicked off in CSI Stadia, Dagupan City on August 24.

The participants consist of public and private schools in elementary and secondary divisions. According to an interview of Sunday Punch, DCAA acting president Renato T. Benitez said 70 teams joined basketball, with 29 teams in elementary and 41 in secondary; while 88 teams in volleyball, 44 in elementary and 44 in secondary, are competing for the crown.

Dagupan City Sports Commission (DCSC) headed by Commissioner Finnela Sim is supporting the tournament together with the city government. As representatives of Mayor Fernandez during the ceremony, Schools Division Superintendent Lorna Bugayong and Sim, tossed the ceremonial ball.
