Three NPA die in police shootout

Three affiliates of NPA (New People’s Army) were killed when they had an encounter with the PNP in San Nicolas, Pangasinan on August 28.
The said shootout happened in the areas of Barangay Malico and Sta. Maria in San Nicolas according to Chief Inspector Norman Florentino of PPPO (Pangasinan Provincial Police Office). The police discovered an improvised explosive device and land mine in the site.
There was no reported casualty in the PNP side and PPPO is now conducting a clearing operation in the area. The NPA rebels recently had an encounter with the police on July 28 and the PNP is now on high alert for another possible attack.
