Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ smashes records

Taylor Swift’s music video for her new single “Look What You Made Me Do” broke the record as the most-viewed video in YouTube history in 24 hours with 43.2 million views on August 24.


Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ video that debuted during the MTV Video Music Awards averaged over 30,000 views per minute with hourly views reaching over 3 million easily topping the previous record-holder, Psy’s “Gentleman” which had 36 million views in its first 24 hours according to reports. Then, the song’s lyric video destroyed the previous record held by the Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This” with 19 million views in one day.


The video was also smashing records in streaming because the song was streamed almost 8 million times in its first 24 hours snatching the record from Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” with 7 million streams according to Music Business Worldwide. The music video has already 263 million views on its first week and the number is still climbing every minute.
