The Calasiao Children’s Chorus (CCC) will participate on the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) Regional Finals Chorale Competition that will be held at the University of Baguio in Baguio City on September 2 with theme, “Anyaya sa Musika."

The competition has three different categories: Children’s Choir, Adult Choir and Rondalla. For Region 1, only two groups were qualified for the semi-finals, the Calasiao Children’s Chorus and the Balon Dagupan Children’s Choir, wherein they will have a chance to compete in the final round. The choir who will emerge victorious in Region 1 will compete in the National Finals on November 2-25 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines along with the winners of other regions.

Calasiao Children’s Chorus’ motto is “Soli Deo Gloria” meaning “Glory to God alone”. In line with the group’s motto, they said that all of the group’s achievement should be offered for God’s greater glory alone. “We always remind the kids, that every performance and competition should always be offered to God who is the giver of their talents. Their preparation for the competition started since May and the bulk of preparation involves choir practices, vocal exercises and physical exercises. We teach them the proper posture in singing, breathing techniques, and how to produce the ideal tonal quality for young voices,” said CCC mentor, Tonjie Santos-Parayno.
