Dagupan POSO to implement RA No. 10054

DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan - Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) received an order from Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) of Region 1 regarding the implementation of Republic Act No. 10054 mandating all motorcycle riders to wear standard protective motorcycle helmets while driving.

All motorcycle riders shall wear motorcycle helmets while driving at all times, whether long or short drives on the road. Motorists who will not comply will be arrested by POSO.

POSO Chief Carlito Ocampo said: “The City Administrator's suggestion was to extend the implementation and give the POSO a five-day extension for the motorists to comply in the ordinance. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) wants to ensure that the lives of motorists will not be at risk.”
